Hello
I'm Catherine Alexander, B.S., A.A.S., LVT
In 2011, I graduated from Purdue University and spent several years working with large exotics and marine mammals in zoological and aquarium settings. While I acquired countless unforgettable memories caring for these animals, I found that my true passion resided in veterinary medicine. While working full-time as an overnight emergency technician, I completed a veterinary technician program and, in 2016, I proudly passed the VTNE and Texas State Licensing Exam.
I spent time in emergency and critical care/intensive care departments at various specialty hospitals. It was in these environments that I witnessed the power of diagnostic imaging, ultrasonography in particular. My vigor to learn more about sonography and become an adept sonographer led me to attend We Are Veterinary Education's (WAVE) Immersion courses.
While working as a sonographer in general practice, I attended the Small Animal Soft Tissue Immersion Program. After acquiring a certificate of proficiency in 2020, I spent time honing my skills before leaving general practice to become a sonographer in a specialty setting. Benefitting immensely from the consistent exposure to abnormal and complicated cases, my skillset expanded tremendously. Next, I attended WAVE's Cardiac Immersion Program in 2021, learning under the tutelage of June Boon, Dr. Sonya Gordon, DVM, DVSc, and other seasoned echocardiographers, before receiving my certificate of proficiency.
I pride myself on providing on-call, comprehensive scans with high-quality, diagnostic images, to aid in the diagnosis of various pathologies in specialty, emergency, and wellness settings.
